Friendships United was started because so many of our students were echoing the same theme of isolation by being bullied and ostracized by their peers. We had students who resorted to self injurious behaviour, developed depressive symptoms, and anxiety because the adults in the schools were not keeping them safe. So we decided to bring the kids together who were suffering without friendships and created F.U. This is a time every month where students get to come together and have fun, and exchange contact information so that the friendships don’t end after the fun of the day. Friendships are supposed to be a part of every child’s life. So we encourage any student from middle through high school to join us.
