Advocate Training Course

Do you feel a calling to make a difference in the life of a child who has learning challenges?  Are you looking for a change in careers to a field that is both fulfilling and rewarding? Do you have the dedication and drive to understand disabilities and the laws that govern special education and advocacy in schools and court?  Then this profession is for you!

Advocacy is not for the meek of heart or for those who cannot speak with authority or conviction when they know they are right, and when what they are saying is for the good of a child.  It is a job that allows you to see the fruits of your labor as you watch your client reading at higher grade levels; master a math problem taught a different way; become organized in their language and/or personal space; write an essay when they couldn't’t put their thoughts on paper before you intervened, and best of all; go across the stage to get their diploma!  It is a job where you help parents understand their child’s challenges and help them to understand what they need to do to help their child accommodate, modify, or overcome those challenges by getting what they need from those charged with providing a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act-2004 (IDEA) states: “To ensure that all children with disabilities have available to them a free appropriate public education that emphasizes special education and related services designed to meet their unique needs and prepare them for further education, employment and independent living, and to ensure that the rights of children with disabilities and parents of such children are protected.”  If you believe that children deserve to have an education for their future. Call us and start making a difference, TODAY!
