Associated Law Firms

Traditionally when a parent feels the child is not getting a free and appropriate public education, there are ways of fighting the system.  Advocates are the first line of defense, and hopefully your needs can be met at that level.  The next level is requesting mediation from the Department of Education, and hopefully that is as far as you have to go.  Mediations do not cost you anything, and the mediator is an impartial entity who listens to both sides and tries to help each side come to an equitable decision in the best interest of the child.  However, there are times when hiring an advocate or going to mediation are not enough and the parent feels strong in their conviction that their child deserves something and is willing to fight at the next level.  You would then go to a due process hearing.  Below is a list of attorney’s in MA that can help you with this process.  The Associated Advocacy Center has worked with all of them and although not endorsing one over another, we believe that they will give you a fair assessment of your rights and help you make the best decision for your child’s educational future.
