Follow our organization as we make footprints in the sand of the community. Everyone of us, from the Board of Directors to the youth who want to make a difference for themselves and others just like them; and the volunteers who work unselfishly to help create a better educational outcome for the children, want you to be aware of what we are doing, whose lives we affect, how we affect them, and when. We are a public entity and we want to keep you abreast of all that we do because it is you that ultimately holds us accountable for it.
Ongoing Forum:
The Re-V-solution has begun! Without our beloved community uniting to create the change that they wish to see in education, there can be no change. Addressing the concerns of each community member and teaching them to be empowered leaders in the fight for social equity and justice reform is a key to creating the society that includes all people. Make your voice known. Join in the cries for a just and humane society. Silence can no longer be tolerated by anyone because our time has come. Children with disabilities and children of color are being left behind, and according to our own federal law, this cannot continue to happen, but it will unless we join together in peaceful protest. We must infiltrate the current education system with strong voices as a democracy. How can a panel of committee members who have no disabilities and are not people of color make decisions for people who don’t look like them? That is called “privilege”. When these committees have forums, do you attend? Do you lend your voice, articulate your concerns, and assert your opinions? If you don’t then you are a part of the perpetuation of the status quo and you need to join us to create united voices. There are so many issues affecting the educational outcome of our most vulnerable and marginalized youth. The school to prison pipeline, unequal education to children with disabilities, yet they are held to the same standards as their typical peers, so the playing field is uneven. Is that justice?
Ask yourself one question: If there were one thing that you would want to see as a positive outcome for children in education, what would it be? Contact us and join the Re-V-solution, you are not alone and we need you because our future depends on our united voices to make that change. “If you want to make the world a better place; take a look at yourself and then make the change.” Michael Jackson
